Olivia's favorite restaurants
Real picks from your host — the places we actually love in the neighborhood.
Los Lirios
★ Favorite
A private home in Zona Romántica that becomes one of Vallarta's best seafood restaurants by night. Intimate, homemade, outstanding. Reserve.
Another Olivia favorite: a panoramic terrace with the most stunning view of the bay. International cuisine, seafood and steaks in a beautiful setting. Open daily 2–10 pm.
One of the most beloved dinner spots with the local crowd, right in Zona Romántica. Chef Memo Wulff cooks with local product on a menu that follows the season — intimate, homemade, no pretense. If you only go out for dinner once, make it here. Always reserve.
Olivia's favorite pizzas in Vallarta, hands down. Slow-fermented sourdough crust — light and crisp, well-chosen toppings, and that balance you only get when the dough is made with real care. Stay in or take it home with a glass of wine. Highly recommended.
For Olivia, the best tacos in the world. Diego knows her order by heart: short-rib tacos so well cooked the bone slides clean — paired with their salsas it's pure taco heaven. Order a Tinto de Verano (Olivia's favorite drink) or a craft beer. Warm, passionate service — Diego takes the time to walk every guest through the menu and salsas.
Very Mexican buffet in stunning architecture (gardens, fountains, sculptures). Few options for specific allergies, but the place and the food are spectacular.
Olivia's favorite venue: an iconic live-entertainment and cabaret room in the heart of Zona Romántica. It's not a single show — it's the venue where Broadway-style productions, drag, comedy, intimate concerts and more take the stage, with a different lineup every night. Check the calendar and buy tickets online.
Olivia's go-to spots to undo the body, move some energy and meet community after the beach or a long day walking Vallarta.
Dr. Mark – Zona Z Wellness
5.0 ★
Olivia's personal pick: Dr. Mark at Zona Z Wellness (Chiropractic & Massages) is the kind of hands you feel once and never want anyone else. Guests come back saying the same things — precise read of the body, just-right pressure, adjustments that actually release tension in the back, neck and shoulders, even pain people had been carrying for years. Warm, attentive presence, calm and spotless space, and that floating-walk-out feeling. If you only treat yourself once on the trip, make it this one. Book ahead.
Outdoor active yoga at different spots around Zona Romántica — Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:30 am. For Olivia, the best class to actually stretch, wake the body up and, more importantly, shift your mood and energy for the day. No mat? Jon lends you one. Donation-based (give what feels right), and a great way to meet locals and travelers. Check Instagram for the location of each session.
Official events (festivals, concerts, ballet, fairs and cultural seasons) auto-updated from Puerto Vallarta's official tourism site. Always confirm date and availability via each event's link.
