7-day itinerary

A perfect week in Zona Romántica

A day-by-day guide built around Olivia's real favorites: walkable beaches, the restaurants we actually love, sunset rooftops and the can't-miss shows of Old Vallarta. Take it at your own pace — everything is a 5–20 minute walk away.

Olivia's local tips

  • Book Rhythms of the Night and Café des Artistes several days in advance.
  • Carry pesos in cash for boats, short taxis and markets.
  • For Marietas and Yelapa, the sea is calmest in the morning — leave early.
  • Uber works well in the city but can't pick up at the airport.
  • The Malecón is best after 6 pm when the heat drops.
